If
you are like me, you need free exercise tips of all kinds. My
favorite exercise is jogging (I am 60 years old), but I also lift a few
weights, bicycle and love to walk. No matter what kind of
exercise you like, be open minded to other forms of exercise. You may
find the new exercise a fun activity, and even if you do not it will
help your body and muscles to be well rounded.
Speaking
of well rounded, make sure that you get muscle building as well as
aerobic exercise in. The aerobic exercise burns a lot of
calories while you are performing the exercise and the muscle building
exercise builds more muscle which burns some calories even when the
muscles are not being used.
Take a Load off Your Feet, Pete
One of my favorite songs is by the
Beach Boys:
“Take a load off your feet”
I
do them when I'm down in the tub
With avocado cream they'll
take a rub
They wrinkle like a-raisins if I stay too long
I
wouldn't want to do it wrong
They'll put you in the
driver's seat
And to the table when you want to eat
But
when you go to sit down in your chair
Something else has got
to put you there
Take good care of your feet, Pete
You
better watch out what you eat, Pete
Better take care of your
life
'Cause nobody else will
They'll
twinkle when you fall in love
And put you there when you jump
up above
When you're on the spot, get them right under you
One,
then the other too
If you want to do the right thing
for them
Just take a walk in the grass
But don't you
catch yourself fallin'
Or steppin' on a piece of glass
(Ouch
glass)
Pete knows all the treacherous blows
The
fallen arches and the cramp in the toes
He went to H. E. L. P.
and got some sandals new
And dusty old saunas too
Take
a load off your feet, Pete
You better watch out what you eat
Better
take care of your life
'Cause nobody else will
Do
do do do do do do do do do
Do do do do do do do do do do
Do
do do do do do do do do do
To lose weight
you have to exercise and to exercise you have to take care of your feet
which includes losing weight.
Finding the Right Exercise
Equipment
If you are looking to purchase home
exercise equipment, the Federal Trade Commission recommends choosing
equipment that will help you to achieve your desired goal. Ask
yourself: Do I want to build strength, increase flexibility, improve
endurance, or enhance my overall health? Answering these questions will
help you make a better selection. Also, be skeptical about outrageous
claims. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
Hand Weights While Walking
Should
One use hand weights while walking? No! The risks outweigh the
benefits. It seems like one could get aerobic exercise and muscle
building exercise at the same time, but carrying weights will not
provide the resistance needed to tone your muscles. It is true that
hand weights can be a great part of your fitness routine, but use them
separate from your walk. while walking they can increase your blood
pressure, place strain on ligaments and tendons and may contribute to
joint problems. You will actually be able to walk faster without
carrying the weights, therefore getting a better workout. Safer ways to
increase intensity include using walking poles or a weighted vest,
which can distribute added weight across your body.
Strength or Endurance
When
it comes to exercise weight loss tips, there are two main categories.
Exercise to gain muscle which will burn calories all day long, and
aerobic exercise which burns a lot of calories in a short period of
time. Aerobic exercise early in the day can also get your metabolism to
a higher level.
Set Realistic Fitness Goals
Do you try to do too much when you to increase your physical activity? Success often leads to more success, so beware because very high goals often lead to failure which is frustrating. Start out slow and set realistic goals for yourself. For example, unless you are already very active, don’t set your new goal as 60 minutes of vigorous exercise every day. Instead, consider starting with activities like brisk walking for 10-15 minutes a few days a week. By conquering smaller goals first, you are more likely to continue.
